JTET Result 2026: Answer Key, Result Date and How to Check
On this page

You've just finished one of the biggest exams Jharkhand has held in years. Well done! Whether you took the morning shift, the afternoon shift or both, the next thing on your mind is the JTET result. This guide covers what happens next: the answer key, the objection window, the expected result timeline, how to check your score and what qualifying means for your teaching career.

We'll keep it simple and only give facts that have been confirmed. Where the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has not yet announced something, we'll say so and point you to the official website.

Key Takeaways

  • JTET 2026 was held today, 1 November 2026, in two shifts across Jharkhand.
  • Reports say about 5.65 lakh candidates registered at 986 centres. It is the first JTET in about 10 years.
  • Next come the provisional answer key, the objection window, the final answer key and then the JTET result.
  • JAC has not yet announced dates for the answer key or the result. Keep checking the official JAC website.
  • Keep your admit card and login details safe. You will need them to check the key and the result.

JTET Result 2026: What Comes Next After Today's Exam

JAC held the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 on Sunday, 1 November 2026, for both levels:

  • Paper 1: Primary level (Classes 1 to 5)
  • Paper 2: Upper Primary level (Classes 6 to 8)

JAC had fixed the exam date through Advertisement No. 62/2026, dated 28 September 2026.

Now that the exam is over, the process usually goes in this order:

  1. Provisional answer key: JAC publishes the answers it considers correct.
  2. Objection window: you can challenge any answer you think is wrong.
  3. Final answer key: JAC reviews the objections and publishes the revised key.
  4. JTET result: scores are calculated from the final key and released online.

You may have heard that the result will come within two months. We could not find an official JAC notice confirming this. Some reports, going by earlier JTET cycles, say results usually come one to two months after the exam. Treat that as a rough guide, not a promise.

Who this guide is for: anyone who sat JTET 2026 today, in either shift, for Paper 1, Paper 2 or both. New to JTET? Start with our JTET Overview: Exam Pattern, Papers, Eligibility & Stages.

Which paper was in which shift?

Most reports put the Upper Primary paper (Classes 6–8) in the morning shift and the Primary paper (Classes 1–5) in the afternoon shift. At least one report gives the opposite order. Go by the shift printed on your own admit card.

Why this JTET is special

Reports describe JTET 2026 as the first teacher eligibility test in Jharkhand in about a decade. Over 5.65 lakh candidates registered, and upper primary candidates outnumbered primary candidates almost two to one. If you felt the pressure today, you weren't alone.

Centre Rules and Prohibitory Orders on Exam Day

The administration took extra steps to keep the exam fair. Here's what was in place.

Section 163 orders around centres

In Jamshedpur, the Dhalbhum Sub-Divisional Magistrate issued a prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS). Reports say it covered 100 metres around exam centres and ran from 6 am to 10 pm on 1 November. It barred:

  • Mobile phones and other electronic gadgets
  • Unnecessary crowds and gatherings

Reports say Jamshedpur had 93 JTET centres. Similar orders were reported around the 101 centres in Ranchi.

Entry checks and banned items

Reports from exam centres describe:

  • Metal-detector checks and biometric verification before candidates entered the hall
  • A complete ban on mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches and any electronic device inside the centre
  • Main gates closing 30 minutes before the exam started, with late arrivals turned away
  • CCTV cameras and jammers at centres, monitored live from district control rooms

The exact list of documents to carry and the full reporting rules were on your admit card. We could not check the admit card instructions ourselves, so read yours again.

Why these rules still matter

The exam is over, but these rules still matter if your attendance or answer sheet is ever questioned. Biometric records, CCTV footage and your signed attendance can settle such disputes. Keep your admit card safe. You'll need the details on it to log in, check the answer key and download your result.

JTET Answer Key 2026: Release and Objections

The answer key is your first real look at how you did. Here's what to expect.

When will it be released?

JAC has not yet announced a date for the JTET 2026 provisional answer key. Once it's out, it will appear on the official JAC website. Look for the JTET section or the latest notices.

Download the JTET answer key from the JAC website

How to download and match your answers

  1. Visit the official JAC website using the link above.
  2. Open the JTET 2026 answer key notice for your paper (Paper 1 or Paper 2).
  3. Download the key. Make sure the booklet series or set code matches the one on your question booklet.
  4. Compare each answer with the bubbles you filled on your OMR sheet. If JAC does not release OMR copies, use the answers you noted on your question booklet.
  5. Count your correct answers carefully, section by section.

Raising objections

The objection window, any fee per question and how to submit will be set out in JAC's answer key notice. For the window and fee, check the official notification. In general, a strong objection:

  • Names the exact question number and booklet series
  • Explains clearly why the official answer is wrong
  • Cites a standard reference, such as an NCERT or Jharkhand state textbook, with the page number
  • Is sent before the deadline, as late objections are usually not considered

Final answer key

After reviewing objections, JAC will publish a final answer key. Your JTET result is calculated from this final key, so a question you got "wrong" in the provisional key may count once it is corrected. Marking for dropped questions will depend on JAC's rules.

How to check your JTET result online

Once JAC declares the result, it will be available on the official website.

Check the JTET result on the JAC website

  1. Open the official JAC website.
  2. Click the JTET 2026 Result link in the notices or results section.
  3. Enter your login details. Expect to need your roll number and perhaps your registration number, date of birth or password. Use whatever JAC asks for.
  4. Submit and check your result on the screen.
  5. Download the result and print a few copies.

If the result won't load or your details are wrong

  • Site not loading? Lakhs of candidates log in at once on result day. Try again after a few hours or late at night.
  • Login error? Check your roll number against your admit card. Watch out for extra spaces and mistyped characters.
  • Name, category or photo wrong? Take a screenshot and contact JAC through the helpline or email address in its result notice. Do it quickly, because corrections are harder later.
  • Never pay anyone who promises to "increase" your marks or fix your result. Only JAC can make changes.

Understanding Your JTET Scorecard and Qualifying Marks

What the scorecard shows

The exact layout will be decided by JAC. A JTET scorecard usually shows:

  • Your name, roll number, category and the paper you took
  • Section-wise marks, such as child development and pedagogy, languages and subject sections
  • Total marks out of the paper's maximum
  • Your status: qualified or not qualified

Category-wise qualifying marks

JTET is a qualifying exam. You need a minimum percentage, which depends on your reservation category. For the exact category-wise qualifying percentages, check the official notification. We have not given figures here because we could not confirm them in an official source.

Estimating your score from the answer key

Reports say each paper has 150 questions for 150 marks, which means one mark per question. A quick way to estimate your score:

  1. Count the questions where your answer matches the key.
  2. Multiply by the marks per question (one mark, if the reported pattern holds).
  3. Subtract any negative marks, if the notification provides for them.
  4. Divide by the total marks and multiply by 100 to get your percentage.

Example: if 98 answers match, your estimated score is 98 out of 150, or about 65.3%. Compare this with the qualifying percentage for your category in the official notification.

Certificate validity and what qualifying means

Qualifying JTET makes you eligible to apply for teacher posts in Jharkhand. It does not guarantee a job. For how long the JTET certificate stays valid, check the official notification. You can read more about how the exam fits into teacher hiring in our JTET Overview.

After the Result: Certificate, Documents and Recruitment

Downloading your JTET certificate or marksheet

After the result, JAC will say how and when you can get your JTET certificate or marksheet, either as an online download or through another process. Download it as soon as it's available. Save it in several places: your email, a cloud drive and a pen drive.

Documents to keep ready

When you apply for teacher recruitment, you'll usually be asked for:

  • JTET result, marksheet and certificate
  • Class 10 and 12 marksheets and certificates
  • Graduation marksheets, if needed for your level
  • Teacher training qualification (D.El.Ed., B.Ed. or equivalent)
  • Caste, residence and EWS certificates, if applicable
  • A government photo ID and recent passport-size photos

To check which qualifications each paper needs, read JTET Eligibility: Paper 1 & 2 Qualification, Age, Documents.

How JTET fits into teacher recruitment

Think of JTET as the gateway. The state runs its teacher recruitment through a separate process with its own notification, vacancies and selection stages. Your JTET qualification is a key eligibility condition for it. For the timeline, fees and recent changes, see JTET Notification and Important Dates 2026, Fee & Changes.

Preparing for Teacher Recruitment Next

Waiting for the result can feel stressful. You can use this time to get ahead. JTET covers much of the syllabus that teacher recruitment exams test, so revising now builds on what you just studied.
