What to Check and How to Revise

Everything marked (verify) comes only from a newspaper report, and no official page confirmed it before this post went out. That includes the ₹20.23 lakh crore GatiShakti figure (PIB's last count was ₹18.66 lakh crore), the railway freight numbers, the $700 billion reserves figure, the sports results, the Nobel item and all the Bihar and Jharkhand items. The SEBI fine is still a proposal. The final rule may change after consultation, so learn it as a proposal, not as law.

The IMF numbers are projections, and they change with every World Economic Outlook. If a question asks for the IMF's forecast for India, check which edition it means. This post uses the October 2026 edition: 7% for 2026-27, up from 6.4% in July.

A simple habit for today: on a small card, write each fact with just its number and one word, for example 'IMF 7, RBI 7.1, Samarthak Karwar 16 Oct'. Cover the numbers tomorrow morning and recall them before you read the next digest. Ten minutes a day like this does more than one long weekend session.
